1927 Crews

In January 1927, NCBC accepted a challenge from Oxford University Women's Boat Club to a contest on the Isis. This was not a side by side race, instead being judged on a combination of style and time over a half mile course, however being the first competitive meeting between women's crews representing the universities of Oxford and Cambridge this meeting is accepted as being the first Women's Boat Race.
